*Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure* starring Ashley Tisdale After concluding the wildly successful High School Musical series last year, Disney decided to take the character of Sharpay Evans to star in her own show. The result is a cute, entertaining movie that is sure to please fans of High School Musical, as well as create some new ones.

Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale) has graduated from high school, but not much has changed for her. She dreams of stardom and the bright lights of Broadway, but she's still in New Mexico, performing at charity events. A talent scout from New York City happens to see Sharpay performing with her dog, Boi, and offers her a chance to make all of her dreams come true (actually, it's Boi he's offering a part, but that's not clear from the beginning). It only takes a small amount of coaxing and her parents agree to let her try, as long as she returns home to work at the country club if things don't work out.

Sharpay is thrilled and sure she'll become the next big thing, but nothing turns out quite like she expected. She meets her idol, Amber Lee Adams (Cameron Goodman), who at first seems like Sharpay's new best friend, but there's something not quite right about the friendship. Then she and Boi end up in competition with another dog, Countess, owned by young Roger (Bradley Steven Perry). Even Sharpay's penthouse apartment falls through when she finds out they don't allow dogs, so she's forced to rent a studio from Peyton (Austin Butler). Peyton turns out to be a true friend.

Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure gives viewers a dose of the over the top, yet winsomely endearing character of Sharpay. There are a few songs in the movie, but the plot is the main focus, not the songs. A couple of catchy tunes that have been airing on the Disney Channel and Radio Disney over the past few months and will be fairly recognizable by viewers. Overall, the plot is much more engaging than I had originally expected it to be. The movie has its largest appeal with the tween girl audience, but families will enjoy the story and it's appealing enough to please a wider variety of viewers.

Ashley Tisdale is the only member of the High School Musical cast to appear in Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, which is a bit disappointing but doesn't detract from the show. The Blu-ray is a great format for enjoying the always colorful Sharpay; the colors truly pop, especially when they hit Broadway. The animals kind of steal the show a couple of times, especially when they "run away" together. Bottom line: Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure is definitely worth purchasing and worth watching. Another quality offering from the Disney Channel lineup of stars and movies.
