*Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo)*On the heels of the immensely popular Beverly Hills Chihuahua movie comes this straight-to-DVD sequel. The movie is decently cute in its own right but fails to exhibit the charm and humor of the original. Mostly it feels like recycled jokes and a tired storyline, but kids will enjoy it and there's nothing offensive about the movie as a whole.

Unfortunately, the original voice talent from the first movie are absent in this offering, with the exception of George Lopez. But this does give some new talent the chance to shine.

The premise: Papi (voiced by Lopez) and Chloe (voiced this time around by Odette Yustman) are now married and have a litter of baby Chihuahuas of their own. Their owner is about to lose their home, so the pooches enter a dog show to earn money to save the house.

This is a movie for kids. There's not much in it that adults will find appealing. The Blu-ray transfer delivers a clear picture of the dogs and their various antics, and since the story moves quickly and the dogs are so cute, you occasionally forget that this isn't highbrow entertainment. It's a great choice of a movie for a kids' sleepover or party; let the adults enjoy some time alone, and the kids will be decently entertained for an hour an a half.
