The Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana DVD has something for every fan of Disney Channel Original Series: it combines the shows The Wizards of Waverly Place , The Suite Life on Deck , and Hannah Montana all into three action-packed episodes.
Justin (David Henrie) from The Wizards of Waverly Place wins a cruise on the SS Tipton, the very same cruise ship where Zack and Cody (Cole and Dylan Sprouse) and the crew attend school. Justin takes his siblings Alex (Selena Gomez) and Max (Jake T. Austin) along for the 18-and-under trip.
While on board, Justin poses as a doctor to impress wealthy London Tipton (Brenda Song) while the others engage in hijinks of their own. In the second episode, Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus) appears, and in the third episode, she loses her lucky ankle bracelet, causing everyone to join in the search. In a parallel storyline, the rest of the Hannah Montana cast is shown "back home."
This is a cute series of three shows, best viewed all in a row to get the complete storyline. Disney series fans will be in seventh heaven getting to see all of their favorite stars in one show. If your young 'tweens and teens aren't familiar with one of these shows, this might be a good way for them to get an introduction to see if they click with the characters. There are some enjoyable bonus features, especially the ones including bloopers.
Although these episodes are still running on the Disney Channel, the DVD is convenient in order to watch the episodes consequently. The purchase price is understandably a bit steep for only 68 minutes of content, but it makes more sense as a DVD than the four-episode series discs that Disney sells regularly. This is one DVD that my 'tween children will watch over and over again.
