After leaving NBC for a job in politics, Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) returns to 30 Rock to struggle his way back up to the top - he makes amazing progress in only a day's time. Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) continues in her quest to adopt a baby but meets some stumbling blocks. Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan) makes a ton of money off his pornographic video game but refuses to share it with the people who helped him make it. In its third season, 30 Rock continues to hold its own as one of the funniest, most innovative comedies on TV and the Internet, and it's all about the little details and the supporting characters. Kenneth the NBC page (Jack McBrayer) is excellent as the socially stunted Southerner. The little bits of Southern-fried flavor he adds in little asides add a richness to every episode and leave you wanting to know more about him. The self-absorbed nature of Jenna Maroney (Jane Krakowski) is hilarious and most likely true about some in Hollywood. Episode highlights include Jenna's auditioning for a Janis Joplin biopic, Liz dating a very good-looking neighbor, Jack's relationship with his mother's nurse (played by Salma Hayek), and Tracy's marital issues with Angie (Sherri Shepherd). Special guests this season include Steve Martin, Elvis Costello, Alan Alda, Larry King, Jon Hamm, Cyndi Lauper, and Jennifer Aniston. Extra features include commentary on select episodes, deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes with The Muppets, and 1-900-OKFACE (a hilarious spot Liz did in Chicago when she was trying to break into acting). |
