James Duval in CORNEREDCornered is the tale of a bunch of dysfunctional convenience store employees and hangers-on (to be honest, I couldn't quite tell how most of them happened upon their friendship) who are locked in said convenience store and murdered one by one.

As the movie opens, we learn that a psycho has been going around killing convenience store employees. The group of people involved stand around after the news report and talk about how, given the opportunity, they would kill the killer.

Steve (Eduardo Antonio Garcia) is the belligerent, beer-guzzling owner of the store who employs his nephew Jimmy (James Duval). A recovering heroin addict who's just gotten back from treatment, after a while Jimmy somehow starts showing signs of withdrawal. Steve locks the place up tight so Jimmy's methodone dealer (yeah, really!) can't get in. He also throws Jimmy's cell phone out the window. The stage is set.

The other players include "Donut" Donny (Peter Story), an overweight clerk who eats donuts like Steve drinks beer. Mona (Ellia English) works part-time as a phone-sex operator; she's been careless on her cell phone bill, so her phone only receives calls. I'm pretty sure that can happen. Jess (Elizabeth Nicole), an aspiring hooker, seems to be there just to hang out with a low-cut top and jean miniskirt.

The 'plot' involves all of these people going upstairs to the apartment above the store to play poker. From there, they commence getting killed off in the same ways in which they had said they would kill the killer if they caught him.

Oh, yeah. Steve Guttenberg stars as delivery guy Morty and gets top billing. I won't tell you who the killer is, though.
