The "Air Bud" movies have long been favorites with children everywhere. Watching a Golden Retriever playing sports and "talking" with other animals is entertaining and delightful. In 2006, Buddy and his mate, Molly, had a litter of five adorable puppies, which spawned a new series, the first of which was Air Buddies.

Snow Buddies is the second film featuring the antics of these cute pups: Buddha, Mudbud, Rosebud, Budderball, and B-Dawg. These mischievous puppies find themselves shut in a carrier and accidentally transported from Washington State to Alaska. Trying to find their way back home, they make friends with Shasta, a Husky puppy whose child owner dreams of participating in a dogsled race. The young boy prays daily for five more dogs to complete his sled team.

It is discovered that the endpoint for the race is a town with an airport, so the puppies agree to be trained in order to participate in the race and get back home. The race is not without its perils-not the least of which is another team of dogs and their owner determined to win the race at any cost.

Cute talking puppies, an exciting setting, teamwork, and slapstick moments make this a movie kids will truly enjoy. Adults may find it a bit boring and the plot bland, but it's one that kids will warm to and want to watch again and again. Overall, Snow Buddies is a fun family film that will delight and entertain children, and may give their parents a chuckle as well. Both of my young children had a great time watching the movie and found a great deal to laugh about while viewing it. The Alaskan scenery is gorgeous and will make you want to visit someday yourself.
