Their handsome good looks, their engaging singing voices, and their squeaky-clean personal lives appeal to their young listeners as well as their parents. This set contains the Blu-ray movie in 3-D, with four pairs of 3-D glasses, the 2-D regular version, and a digital copy for transfer to an iPod or other player. Although this disc is touted as the Jonas Brothers "starring in their first motion picture," this is really a concert experience not unlike the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus DVD from a few months ago. Although there are behind-the-scenes shots as well as some featurettes following the JoBros' lives on tour, this is a DVD of a concert, not a fiction - or even a nonfiction - movie. That said, 3-D movies at home have never appealed to me, and this one is no exception. There are some things that just don't "work" on a regular television, and the blue/red 3-D glasses don't provide a very good effect. It's all right to sit through once, but for future viewing we will be watching the 2-D version. Overall, the Jonas Brothers are really phenomenal singers. They put on a great show, and for those who are unable or unwilling to shell out the money for a live concert, this DVD is truly the next best thing. Their music is catchy and compels viewers to get up, dance, and sing along. For added enjoyment, special guest appearances are made by Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift. Both of my 'tween children (ages 9 and 10) loved watching this concert DVD. The Jonas Brothers mostly appeal to girls, but boys can enjoy them too without feeling too silly. The sound on the Blu-ray and DVD are excellent, giving the home viewer a wonderful concert-like sound experience along with their viewing. For those with a surround sound home theater system, this disc's sound is fantastic. Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience is fine, but the non-3-D portions and the audio are what elevate this beyond what you can watch on a regular television special. Fans of the Jonas Brothers will definitely be pleased, and adults and non-fans might just get a new appreciation for these talented young men.
