Shelly Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre first found its fans during its wonderful series run in 1982-1983 on PBS. It has been re-released in DVD format and is still just as charming now as it was then.

Each tale on this DVD collection, adapted from the original Brothers Grimm stories, is tasteful and thoughtful, and Duvall uses her unique style of humor to engage the audience in these tales of morality and sensibility. The DVD has four tales totaling more than 3 hours: Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin and Little Red Riding Hood. The cast includes names one normally wouldn't associate with fairy tales - Jeff Bridges, Joan Collins, Gena Rowlands, Ricky Schroder... and of course, Shelley Duvall.

The sets evoke each tale's sense of time and place, and the stories are sure to be enjoyed by family members of all ages. Faerie Tale Theatre was a hit when it aired in 1982 and has proved to be a standard bearer for those in search of clean, fun family entertainment.
