This three-disc set of holiday episodes of the television show Alvin and the Chipmunks will definitely please the children in your household (and the adults who feel like children when they watch it!)
The Alvin and the Chipmunks Classic Holiday Gift Set contains the following discs: Trick or Treason, five Halloween episodes; Alvin's Thanksgiving Celebration, four Thanksgiving episodes; and A Chipmunk Christmas, three Christmas episodes. Twelve episodes to send your child into Chipmunk heaven from October through December.
These shows are a compilation from the '80s and '90s, and nostalgic adults will love to reminisce about their favorite episodes while their children experience them for the first time. Especially fun is the favorite "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)" on the Christmas disc.
Although the price tag might seem a bit steep for what you're purchasing, these Alvin and the Chipmunks episodes can be enjoyed year after year by the entire family-maybe even making it a holiday tradition to watch each disc during its appropriate holiday. The storylines are a bit predictable, but there are some surprising lessons about friendship and acceptance. And these are not exactly the same as the Chipmunks from last year's live action/animation Alvin and the Chipmunks motion picture. They hearken back to another era of cartoons, one with definite widespread appeal to both adults and children.
