The Titanic 10th Anniversary Edition two-disc collector's set is available now! The movie was the personal project of director and writer James Cameron. The new collection includes moving commentary by him, as well as many insightful comments by the actors. There is a historical commentary, behind-the-scenes featurettes, an alternate ending and a music video.
When it debuted, Titanic won eleven Academy Awards. The new anniversary edition strives to let fans know just why and how much work went into the retelling of an emotionally shocking human tragedy. Through the fictional characters of Jack and Rose, portrayed very well by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winlet, Cameron tells the story of the luxury ship Titanic and its first and final voyage that resulted in the deaths of more than one thousand passengers. Billy Zane, Bill Paxton and Kathy Bates all play dynamic parts in the retelling.
Whether actually experiencing the sweeping tale for the first time or reliving it, the extra features here offer more insights into a story that needed telling. It is just as good as it was when the Titanic was initially released. Solid characters, charismatic acting and a well-expressed emotional event all make for good movie watching, especially when the set, details and costumes are executed so authentically.
